So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.
Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.”
— Jeremiah 18:3-6
Dear Heavenly Father, Master Crafter, Creator, Architect of our Lives:
We thank you for this precious gift of life, for every moment we’ve been given, for breath and for body. We come before you today and ask for your healing. We know that you can do it, God, nothing is beyond your mighty power, you who sends and shifts the winds, you who hung the sun, moon, and stars and set the earth on its foundation, you who made your humble servant, man, from dust and clay. Therefore, we ask, as you knit us together in our mother’s womb, please knit us together once more. If you are willing, please restore our health, energy, and vitality. We ask this, but we also trust that you have a plan and that you know what’s best for us. So, in faith, we say— not our will, but yours be done, Father.
In Jesus’s name we pray.
Amen.
